Porsche Club Queensland |
1. Introduction
1.1 The Club Competition is intended to give club members the opportunity to drive their cars in competitive motorsport events. Core values include good sportsmanship, friendly competition, respect of other competitors, encouragement of novice and inexperienced drivers.
1.2 The PCQ Motorsport Competition Rules have been kept simple and applicable to club level motorsport to avoid over-regulating the competition, drivers or cars nor discourage members from developing their cars so that they may advance to higher levels of Porsche motorsport.
1.3 The Motorsport Committee shall be responsible for application, interpretation, changes and additions to the Rules. Decisions by the Motorsport Committee shall be final and binding on all competitors.
1.4 It is a condition of entering any Club Competition event that competitors/entrants / drivers understand and accept the rules. They understand and accept that there is a risk in motorsport, that accidents can happen resulting in personal injury and or property damage, and that this may be caused by others. They also agree not to take legal action against the Porsche Club Queensland Inc, any event official, track owner, Motorsport Australia, Racers or AASA.
2. Event, Competition and Championship Eligibility
2.1 All drivers must complete a Motorsport Competition Registration form annually with the driver and car details. This must be completed with honesty as it will be checked by the Motorsport Committee and be the basis for classing of the car. Forms must be submitted to the Director of Motorsport prior to Round 3 or the first event for the year for that competitor.
2.2 All drivers must register for every event they drive in, via the PCQ Wild Apricot Website. They must complete an entry form for each car they wish to drive at an event. A second Entry registration for the event organiser/raceway will also usually need to be completed. The entry form must be complete and accurate, and the Motorsport Committee has the right to refuse any entry. Where the Event is being run by another organization, e.g. an ICC Event, if a driver nominates another Club for ICC, they are automatically excluded and ineligible for PCQ points for that event. Drivers can opt out of the Club Competition and/or be excluded from any publication upon request.
2.3 Entries must be received by the Director of Motorsport on or before the closing date.
2.4 All drivers must pay the entry fee.
2.5 Only financial club members driving Porsche cars as per their entry form are eligible for points in the Club Championship.
2.6 Financial club members driving non-Porsches are eligible for points in the Associate class, but not in the Club Championship
2.7 Replica Porsches are eligible for club championship points provided the replica body is a recognisable and faithful copy of a Porsche model and is powered by a Porsche engine. In the event that genuine Porsche parts including engine and major running gear are not readily available, aftermarket parts can be used provided that the part in question has been designed specifically for use in a Porsche. A substitute engine not of the aforementioned type will deem the car ineligible. Where a car has major parts that are not genuine Porsche parts, an annexure to the MCRF needs to be included for review by the Motorsport Technical Committee. Electric conversions will not be allowed.
2.8 If a driver enters and pays the entry fee for more than one Porsche car in an event, class points will be awarded to each car, but only the points from one car, that nominated by the driver prior to the event, will be eligible for the driver's club championship points.
2.9 If a driver wishes to change the car nominated on the entry form, they must advise the Director of Motorsport (or nominated delegate) before the event commences and provide a "Competition Motorsport Registration Form" for that car.
2.10 Where a registered driver suffers mechanical breakdown or accident at an event, they may drive another car subject to approval from the Director of Motorsport (or nominated delegate) but may not be eligible for championship points in that other car, if that car is in another class.
2.11 All drivers must have a current competition license applicable to the event. Motorsport Australia Level 2S (or higher) for events run under a Motorsport Australia permit. AASA or Racers License where applicable for non- Motorsport Australia events.
2.12 All drivers must complete and sign all indemnity forms applicable to the event.
2.13 All drivers must ensure that their car is safe and complies to pass scrutineering as per the supplementary regulations and/or the track owner’s scrutineering requirements. PCQ requires a scrutineering form to be completed for every sprint event.
2.14 All cars competing in timed sprints must be fitted with the appropriate club or track owners lap timer. Without the designated lap timer, official lap times will not be available, and the results will be recorded as NTR (no time recorded) and no points awarded.
2.15 A CTP Extension (Compulsory Third Party) is required for all Queensland road registered cars competing in any event running under a Motorsport Australia Permit or an event where to organizer deems it necessary.
2.16 If an event is over-subscribed, preference may be given to financial members driving Porsches, then financial members driving non-Porsches and then non-club members.
3. Events
3.1 The following events may be held and be part of the club championship: -
4. Power to Weight
4.1 All cars will be given a Power to Weight Ratio (P/W) as determined by the Motorsport Committee.
4.2 All competitors will be required to complete a "Motorsport Competition Registration Form" providing details of their car, needed for classing. This will include model, year, engine capacity, power, weight and modifications. The Motorsport Committee has the right to have a car weighed and dyno-ed if deemed necessary. A new "Motorsport Competition Registration" form needs to be submitted once any changes to the car have occurred that will alter the existing form. If the competitor's car is un-altered and completely factory standard, then the abridged MCRF can be submitted
4.3 Points will not be awarded until this form is received and verified correct by the Motorsport Committee. Members will be advised by the Motorsport Committee of any changes in classing.
4.4 Power to weight ratio (P/W) expressed as kg/kW.
4.5 The power being kW at the engine flywheel (not hubs/wheels)
4.6 The minimum power figure for any standard engine will be the factory quoted power figure for that engine Type Number.
4.7 Power figures from dyno testing deemed by the Motorsport Committee to be inaccurate will not be applicable.
4.8 The conversion factor for power measured at the wheels on a rolling road or hub dyno to power at the engine / flywheel shall be:

4.9 The weight of the car is "track weight" and does not include the driver, fuel, spare tyre, jack or tool kit.
4.10 The maximum weight for any standard car will be the factory quoted weight for that year / model and that weight may be adjusted to determine a track weight.
4.11 The P/W figure may be adjusted by the Motorsport Committee based on modifications to a standard car which may affect performance but not change either the power or weight of that car.
4.12 Associate Cars - For cars other than Porsche, power to weight is not applicable.
5. Classes
5.1 Classes will be determined by the Motorsport Committee based on power to weight ratio (P/W) and maybe subject to other facors and adjustment by the Motorsport Committee.
5.2 Porsche Cars
Open Class - Racecars, cars that cannot be road registered.
A Class - cars with P/W range 0.00 to 4.49
B Class - cars with P/W range 4.50 to 5.74
C Class - cars with P/W range 5.75 to 6.99
D Class - cars with P/W range 7.00 to 8.49
E Class - cars with P/W 8.50 or greater
5.3 Associate Class – For cars other than Porsches and Porsche-engined cars deemed ineligible as per Rule 2.7
6. Benchmark Lap Times (BM)
6.1 All cars will be given a benchmark lap time for each circuit /track.
6.2 Benchmark lap times will be determined by the Motorsport Committee based on past Club lap records for each circuit / track using the P/W of the car which set that lap record as a guide.
6.3 Cars running on slicks or twin groove tyres will have their benchmark lap time adjusted based on the track / length of track, as determined by the Motorsport Committee.
6.4 Cars with Driver Assist Devices will have their Benchmark Times reduced by 0.2secs for each device. Driver Assist Devices adjusted for are:
6.5 Benchmark lap times are subject to review by the Motorsport Committee, but any changes will not be made retrospective. Although P/W is the basis, other factors, including results may change a competitor’s P/W without notice. Because a P/W and benchmark lap time can be adjusted post-event, publishing of benchmark lap times prior to an event is generally not possible.
6.6 For Associate Class, the fastest lap time shall be the benchmark lap time for all Associate Class cars.
7. Event Points
7.1 Sprint Events
7.1.1. A driver's fastest lap time for that track / circuit on the day will be used to determine their points.
7.1.2. A driver must complete a minimum of 1 timed lap to be eligible for points.
7.1.3. If two or more tracks / circuits are driven, a benchmark percentage (BM%) for each circuit will be calculated as per 7.1.7 and totalled (Tot BM%) to give a Round result.
7.1.4 If at an event where two or more circuits are used, and the driver does not compete on all circuits, only the BM% will be used for those circuits where a lap time is recorded.
7.1.5. Points will be awarded based on a benchmark lap time for each car for each circuit / track as determined by the Motorsport Committee.
7.1.6 Points will be awarded for each Class including Associate Class.
7.1.7 Points will be calculated using the competitor's best lap time compared to their car's benchmark lap time for that track / circuit and expressed as a percentage (BM%)
7.1.8 Competitors will be ranked from best / highest % (1st place) to worst / lowest % (last place in each class based on BM% for one circuit or Total BM% for more than one circuit. The percentage benchmark will be awarded to one decimal place.
7.2 Motorkhana, Khanacross, Autocross and Hill Climb Events
7.2.1. There will only be 2 classes - Porsche Cars (Open - E Class not applicable) and Associate Cars.
7.2.2. Points will be awarded as First Place - 100 points; Second Place - 99 points; Third Place – 98 Points; etc.
7.3 Drags
7.3.1. There will be only 2 classes - Porsche Cars (Open - E Class not applicable) and Associate Class.
7.3.2. The first 3 runs of the event will be qualifying.
7.3.3. Each driver will then nominate a dial in time.
7.3.4. Points will be awarded based on a driver's best dial in time result from the next 5 runs. 7.3.5 "Breaking out" times are not counted.
7.3.6. Points - a competitor’s best dial in time will be compared to his / her dial in time and expressed as a percentage (%) and ranked from best / highest % (1st place) to worst / lowest % (last place).
7.3.7. Points will be awarded as per Rule 7.2.2
8. Results
8.1 Results will be published on the club website and in the club magazine as soon as possible after the event. The results from the last two events of the year will be held over until after the presentation of awards.
8.2 Members will be advised of any changes or amendments to results.
9. Club Championship Points

9.2 Only points from sprint events will count for points in the Sprint Champioship. Points from Khana events listed in the 2026 PCQ Motorsport Calendar will count for points in the Khana Championship. All points, Sprint and Khana, will count for the Club Championship.
9.3 A driver's individual Round / event points will be totalled at the end of the year.
9.4 If a driver has entered more than one Porsche car at an event, each car will be awarded points, but the driver will receive the points from only one car (with highest points) towards their Club Championship. If a driver competes in more than one car during the year, the points from only 2 cars can be counted in the Club Championship points.
9.5 A driver's total points at the end of the year will be adjusted to give a Championship Total for either the Sprint Championship or the Khana Championship. If the competition has 7 or less rounds, no rounds to be dropped. If the competition has 8 rounds, a driver drops their single worst round, which may be a zero-point (non-attended) round. If the competition has 9 or more rounds, a driver drops their 2 worst rounds. The dropped rounds maybe zero-point rounds.
9.6 If a driver is excluded from any rounds, these excluded rounds cannot be counted as dropped rounds.
9.7 If adjusted total points for the Sprint Championship or the total points for the Khana Championship are tied, a count back will be used to break the tie. Drop 2 rounds, then drop only 1 round, then drop no rounds until the tie is broken.
9.10 The Club Champion will be the Driver with the most accumulated Points at the end of the year. If total points are tied, a count back will be used to break the tie. Drop 2 rounds, then drop only 1 round, then drop no rounds until the tie is broken.
